About The Position

The Intensive Care Unit at Holy Cross Hospital – West Valley encompasses a culture of learning, teaching, and collaboration. This department has a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio and 10 beds to care for patients with STEMIs, sepsis, balloon pump, impellas, post cardiac arrest hypothermia, DKAs, GI bleeds as well as medical and surgical ICU and overflow from other inpatient units. We thrive on teamwork and genuinely care about each other’s patients. We also welcome students and enjoy being a part of their growth journey. Requirements

  • A degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN). Master's degree required. Must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • 4 years progressive clinical leadership experience required.
  • Experience in acute care preferred.
  • RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.
  • Nursing Specialty Certification required to sit within 6 months; Must achieve within 1 year of hire or transfer to the role.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and accountability in the strategic and daily operations of the clinical service.
  • Develop and maintain excellent physician and associate relations.
  • Be accountable for the quality of patient care provided by the nursing service.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all functions of the service to include quality, administrative, and financial outcomes.
  • Oversee the delivery of patient care.
  • Establish standards of nursing practice for the service and the nursing professional practice as a whole.
  • Assure achievement of department, nursing division and hospital goals as well as adherence to hospital policies and standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies.
