About The Position

As our Director Nursing Emergency Services at St. Bernardine Medical Center you will be responsible for ER / Emergency Room, 2 Urgent Care Centers, and a Transitional Care Clinic. You will also have oversight of the Substance Abuse Navigator and Opt-out Testing Navigator. Our ER has 24 beds and we see over 70,000 visits per year. In this role you will lead upwards of 200 staff to provide quality care to our patients requiring urgent and emergency care. You will direct the operations, work with the executive leadership team and the Nurse Managers Emergency Services on key initiatives, and work with other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. We are looking for an experienced manager/director, with a track record of success overseeing ER services. To thrive in this role, you must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. You will tackle tough conversations, and above all, be an educator at heart. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience required.
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
