About The Position

Kraft Heinz is undergoing a significant transformation, modernizing its portfolio, enhancing performance, and becoming a more agile, consumer-focused organization. This newly created role of Director, North America Region Communications is designed to accelerate this strategy by embedding a senior communications leader within the North America Region. The ideal candidate will be a proactive builder, capable of quickly understanding the business, establishing relationships, identifying key tasks, and delivering value. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, possess strong writing and messaging skills, and excel in a collaborative, integrated communications function within a global, matrixed organization. This is a unique opportunity to influence the narrative of a major food and beverage company during a critical period, offering direct access to senior leadership, ownership of a high-visibility communications agenda, and the potential to significantly impact employee engagement and business momentum.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive corporate communications experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of advising senior executives (Presidents or C-suite) as a trusted communications counselor who shapes strategy.
  • Strong strategic communications planning skills: ability to connect business priorities to communications objectives and build measurable, accountable plans.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, including compelling executive writing for various formats and audiences.
  • Experience leading complex internal communications programs, especially through organizational change, transformation, or restructuring.
  • Proven track record in issues management and crisis communications, with the judgment to calibrate responses and manage escalation in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Comfort with data: ability to use employee listening tools, engagement metrics, and measurement frameworks to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.
  • Experience in CPG, food & beverage, or a similarly complex global consumer organization.
  • Collaborative nature: ability to build strong relationships, integrate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, and elevate colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within an in-house global communications function, navigating COE structures and matrixed reporting.
  • Track record leading employee communications through large-scale organizational change or business transformation.
  • Familiarity with large-scale employee engagement platforms and digital communications tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic Communications business partner to the North America leadership team, translating business strategy into a proactive communications plan with clear goals, measurable outcomes, and stakeholder alignment to enable and accelerate the region's growth agenda.
  • Act as the embedded NA Region expert for the broader Global Communications team, leading messaging on North America performance, transformation, and turnaround efforts, and partnering with the External Communications COE to communicate key regional stories.
  • Inspire and align over 16,000 employees in the Region through internal communications, including leadership messages, town halls, newsletters, and earnings debriefs, aiming to improve understanding of the transformation strategy and increase engagement.
  • Ensure communications across the Region are consistent, coordinated, and aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Own the NA Region brand and lead campaigns such as 'Play to Win' to drive employee engagement and enhance the employer brand.
  • Champion a consistent voice and culture narrative across the North America employee experience, integrating company values and growth strategy into daily communications.
  • Serve as the communications lead for issues and special situations within the NA Region, ensuring timely, accurate, and calibrated responses, and managing escalation to the Corporate Reputation and Risk COE.
  • Partner with COEs (Internal Communications, Integrated Storytelling, External Communications, Corporate Reputation and Risk) on integrated planning, cross-functional execution, and developing thought leadership and executive social media content for the NA Regional President.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four NA Region communications professionals, fostering an environment for high performance, and evolving the operating model and recruitment as needed.
  • Note: Media relations is not a primary responsibility as it is handled by the External Communications COE.
