About The Position

Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or engineering discipline strongly preferred (e.g., PhD or MS in biology, immunology, pharmacology, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related field).
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in biopharma strategy, new product planning, commercial strategy, competitive intelligence, market research, or life-sciences consulting; exceptional candidates with a PhD and somewhat fewer post-degree years may be considered.
  • Strong preference for experience at a boutique life-sciences strategy consultancy, with hands-on responsibility for new product planning, indication strategy, market opportunity assessment, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and/or portfolio strategy engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly understand complex biology, mechanisms of action, clinical trial design, endpoints, and therapeutic landscapes and connect them to strategic and commercial implications.
  • Fluency in primary and secondary market research and comfort managing external vendors and expert interviews.
  • Experience building or critically evaluating patient-based forecasts, epidemiology models, scenario analyses, and commercial opportunity assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise, executive-ready PowerPoint materials and communicate effectively with scientific and senior business audiences.
  • High level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; strong comfort adopting AI-enabled research, synthesis, and knowledge-management tools and using them responsibly.
  • Highly analytical, intellectually curious, organized, and proactive, with strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple evolving priorities in a small, fast-moving organization.

Responsibilities

  • As a program core team member, own early commercial strategy for assigned programs.
  • Develop disease and market landscapes covering patient journey, treatment paradigms, unmet needs, stakeholder decision drivers, and sources of market disruption.
  • Partner with Clinical Development, Medical, Regulatory, Research, and Program Leadership to shape target product profiles and evidence-generation priorities that drive differentiation.
  • Lead indication prioritization and sequencing, weighing scientific rationale, epidemiology, competitive intensity, feasibility, market access, and commercial attractiveness.
  • Build market models, revenue forecasts, and risk-adjusted assessments to inform portfolio planning, investment decisions, and long-range planning.
  • Design and run primary and secondary market research with physicians, payers, and patients; translate findings into decision-ready recommendations.
  • Support evaluation of new targets, pipeline, lifecycle, and business development opportunities through integrated scientific and commercial assessment.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of competitors, mechanisms, clinical programs, and emerging scientific trends relevant to Kymera's portfolio.
  • Identify key intelligence questions and competitive scenarios, distinguishing signal from noise and flagging implications for Kymera's programs.
  • Deliver concise news-flow updates and landscape syntheses to program teams and leadership, interpreting what changed, why it matters, and what should follow.
  • Attend key medical and scientific meetings to capture competitive data, synthesize in real time, and produce post-congress readouts.
  • Use Kymera's AI-enabled intelligence tools to accelerate monitoring, triage, and synthesis, while maintaining rigorous source validation and traceability.
  • Help improve CI processes, templates, taxonomies, and AI-supported workflows to deliver insights faster with less manual effort.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to program teams and functional leaders, bringing an external market and competitor lens into development decisions.
  • Translate complex scientific, clinical, and financial information into crisp executive narratives and presentations.
  • Frame ambiguous business questions, define the analytical approach, and drive projects to clear decisions.
  • Contribute to Corporate Strategy priorities — portfolio strategy, long-range planning, investor analyses — as business needs evolve.
