About The Position

The Sales Desk Director's overall responsibility is to create and sustain a top performing sales environment operating at the highest level of integrity and compliance. This role involves training Internal Wholesalers to meet sales goals, serving as a resource and liaison with various Jackson departments, and providing operational and sales support. The Director will also focus on developing associates for career advancement, conducting performance reviews, monitoring sales calls, and managing team leads to enhance communication and coaching. Additionally, the role includes interviewing candidates and engaging in recruiting events to support hiring needs.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Jackson products, policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ability to develop staff through training, guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct a variety of sales and non-sales related training modules and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to define, set, implement, and monitor procedures.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize while managing multi-tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity, and the ability to adapt to change in a positive manner.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience required.
  • 3+ years of financial services industry experience required.
  • 6+ months experience as a Senior Internal Wholesaler required for current Internal Sales Desk associates.
  • FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 6 or 7, FINRA Series 63, State Insurance License required.
  • FINRA Series 24 or 26 required.
  • Applicants without the required registration(s) will have 90 days to obtain the required registration(s), but will be limited in job function until complete registration(s) is obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Trains Internal Wholesalers to meet the sales goals of the organization.
  • Serves as a resource to the National Sales Desk while acting as a liaison with various departments within Jackson, including but not limited to: New Business Units, Licensing, Commissions, Broker Services Management, Product Management, and Marketing.
  • Provides operational and sales support, sales coaching, and motivation to their teams, including building sales presentations and teaching territory management skills.
  • Develops associates for successful career advancements to External Wholesaler, NSD Management, or other Jackson positions.
  • Provides periodic development reviews for Internal Wholesalers that evaluate performance objectives and core competencies.
  • Monitors sales calls and electronic communication to observe Internal Wholesaler's demeanor, technical accuracy, sales ability, appointment quality, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
  • Performs miscellaneous special tactical and strategic projects as assigned by management.
  • Manages Internal Wholesaler Team Leads to support the pod structure on the sales desk and enhance communication, sale idea generation, and coaching for associates.
  • Conducts interviews with potential Internal Wholesaler candidates.
  • Engages in recruiting events to supports the hiring needs of the sales desk.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
