About The Position

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church is seeking a Director/Minister of Youth and Families to provide strategic, spiritual, and organizational leadership for children's, youth, and family ministries. This role involves overseeing engaging and safe ministry experiences for youth (grades 6-12), supporting children's ministry through curriculum and volunteer development, equipping parents to nurture faith at home, and managing administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is an outgoing team player who can foster relationships with Jesus, support volunteers, and engage youth and families in missions. The ministry is a vibrant part of the parish life, offering weekly gatherings, diocesan retreats, and seasonal events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Alignment with Episcopal traditions in worship and teaching as described in The 1979 Book of Common Prayer.
  • Strong leadership and volunteer development skills.
  • Strong organizational ability, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Skills in developing and implementing ministry strategies for personal growth and development of children and/or youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, spiritual, and organizational leadership to align children's, youth, and family ministries with the church's mission and long-term discipleship goals.
  • Oversee and develop engaging, safe, and spiritually formative ministry experiences that disciple youth and equip them for active participation in the life of the church.
  • Partner with lay leadership to strengthen children's ministry through curriculum support, volunteer development, and well-coordinated programs and events.
  • Equip and encourage parents and caregivers to nurture faith at home while fostering meaningful connection and community among families.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities and cross-staff collaboration to ensure family ministries are well-resourced, integrated, and sustainable.
