About The Position

This Merchant Director leads the development, execution, and expansion of benefit program spend at Walmart. You'll manage and develop a high-performing team by fostering collaboration and guiding strategic initiatives. The Directed Spend team leads Walmart’s specialty tender programs, including SNAP, OTC, WIC, and FSA, enabling customers to maximize their benefits with Walmart’s everyday low prices. Your work directly impacts customer value and Walmart’s leadership in specialty retail programs.

Extensive experience in financial management, with proven ability to develop and execute complex strategies.
Strong leadership skills in team management, including talent development and performance management.
Proficiency in business planning, budgeting, and forecasting to meet financial targets.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 5 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
OR 7 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
