Director, Membership Growth & Strategy

SVP WorldwideNashville, TN
Hybrid

About The Position

This is an opportunity to own and accelerate the growth of an established SAAS membership at a company millions of makers already know and trust. SVP Worldwide is home to the most iconic brands in sewing — SINGER, Husqvarna VIKING, and PFAFF — and through Creativate we have built genuinely great software for every kind of maker, from quilters and embroiderers to garment makers and everyday sewists. The product is real, the audience is passionate, and the membership is established. What it needs now is someone to drive it into its next phase of serious growth. As Director, Membership Growth and Strategy, you own membership product strategy, its growth, retention, and long-term health. You will turn everything we have built for makers into a thriving, growing membership program: how makers discover it, join it, stay with it, and get more from it over time. You will set the strategy, own the trajectory, and build the growth engine that turns a loyal community into durable, compounding revenue. We are looking for someone who has built and scaled consumer membership products before and is ready to make a real difference, someone who can step in and move quickly with the backing of an established business and beloved brands.

Requirements

  • Proven track record building and scaling a business-to-consumer (B2C) SAAS membership or subscription product through a high-growth phase, building it and not just running it.
  • 10+ years in product, growth, or membership-product leadership, with the seniority to step in and drive from day one.
  • Deep command of consumer membership economics and the acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime-value levers that move them.
  • Strategic command of the key metrics used to set direction, not just report it: recurring revenue (MRR/ARR), ARPU, lifetime value (LTV), acquisition cost (CAC), conversion, cohorts, and churn.
  • Experience setting monetization and pricing strategy across international, direct-to-consumer markets.
  • A consumer-insights-driven, experimentation-first operator who uses data and AI tools to move quickly and scale what works.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functionally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, product, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Typically has a Bachelors, MBA or other degree relevent to business function.
  • 5+ years leading a team of professionals.
  • May lead several teams within a business undit or entity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with membership or subscription products delivered internationally.
  • Experience in a passion, hobby, or creative category.
  • Knowledge of retention, loyalty, and community strategies for consumer membership products.
  • Familiarity with, or passion for, the sewing, embroidery, quilting, or broader fabric-arts space.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Membership Product strategy

  • Set the trajectory the company grows against. Drive its next phase of high growth while balancing near-term results with a durable long-term model.
  • Deliver membership product solutions across all channels Dealer, Mass, Distributor and D2C.
  • Own the member lifecycle
  • Own the entire member lifecycle which lives across all maker communities: acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime-value expansion.
  • Own the strategy for the Membership Portfolio — pricing strategy, terms (monthly, annual, multi-year), trials, discounts, bundling, and regional models — grounded in consumer insights and tested against real member behavior.
  • Turn insight into growth decisions
  • Build the insight and experimentation capability for the Membership Products, and own the numbers that define their health, including recurring revenue (MRR/ARR), ARPU, lifetime value (LTV), acquisition cost (CAC), conversion, cohorts, and churn.
  • Keep a sharp read on the competitive and category landscape — how other consumer memberships acquire, price, and retain — and turn it into advantage for our members.
  • Lead cross-functionally and connect the communities to the Membership Program
  • Lead across product, marketing, sales, e-commerce, content, and customer success to build one coherent growth strategy, and partner with the software product managers so the features and content each community builds convert into membership, engagement, and retention.
  • Establish the operating model to scale
  • Operate as the strategic owner today and put in place the partnerships and operating rhythm needed to scale the Membership Product as it grows.
  • The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
