About The Position

Wrench Group is looking for a Director, Media Strategy to help shape how we invest in local awareness media across our growing portfolio of home-services brands. This is a role for someone who loves the intersection of media strategy, data, business performance, and local-market dynamics. You'll help determine where we invest, how much we invest, which channels make the most sense, and how those decisions should change based on what is happening in each market. With $15–$20 million in annual media investment across 20+ markets, you'll have the opportunity to build a more consistent, data-informed approach to media planning while still recognizing that every local market is different. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas needed now or in the future.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in media strategy, media planning, integrated marketing, or a related discipline, including experience with complex, multi-market or multi-brand portfolios.
  • Strong experience balancing traditional and digital awareness channels based on market conditions and business objectives.
  • Experience managing or influencing significant media investment and making allocation recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial-planning capabilities.
  • A track record of connecting media strategy to measurable awareness, demand, lead, or revenue outcomes.
  • Experience developing planning baselines, forecasts, performance expectations, and investment guardrails.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to explain the “why” behind a recommendation.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead media strategy and planning across local markets and own the portfolio-wide approach to awareness media across traditional and digital channels.
  • Establish planning principles and investment guardrails while recommending the right channel mix, investment levels, reach, frequency, flighting, and timing by market and service line.
  • Use data and business priorities to challenge assumptions, evaluate tradeoffs, and make clear recommendations about where Wrench should—and shouldn't—invest.
  • Evaluate audience behavior, competition, seasonality, media consumption, cost dynamics, operational capacity, and business needs to determine what makes sense for each market.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable media strategies, forecasts, briefs, and measurable planning requirements.
  • Connect awareness investment to demand, leads, capacity, and revenue, and help improve media effectiveness measurement.
  • Present recommendations, tradeoffs, and performance implications to senior marketing and business leaders.
