About The Position

1-800-Flowers is seeking a strategic, data-driven Director of Marketplace Performance Marketing to accelerate growth across leading digital marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, and TikTok Shop. This role will own the paid media strategy to drive visibility, revenue, and ranking for a portfolio of consumer brands. The Director will lead marketplace retail media strategy end-to-end, ensuring investments align with revenue, margin, and inventory priorities. This is a high-impact leadership role connecting media performance to total marketplace growth in a fast-paced B2C environment. The company emphasizes that marketplaces are a fast-growing and competitive consumer channel where visibility, conversion, and retail excellence directly drive growth. This position offers the opportunity to build in-house retail media capabilities, shape strategy across major platforms, and influence consumer discovery and purchasing behavior.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of performance marketing experience, including deep expertise in Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect.
  • Experience managing and scaling multi-million-dollar retail media budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth while maintaining efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon ranking dynamics, search term strategy, and retail readiness impact.
  • Experience running conversion-focused campaigns within TikTok Shop or social commerce environments.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.

  • Experience leading in-house retail media teams.
  • Familiarity with DSP and audience-based retargeting strategies.
  • Experience working across multi-brand consumer portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the retail media strategy across Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and other marketplaces.
  • Set annual and quarterly investment plans aligned to revenue, profitability, seasonality, and product priorities.
  • Allocate spend by platform, category, and SKU to maximize total marketplace impact.
  • Own top-line paid media KPIs including revenue, ROAS, TACoS, and contribution margin impact.
  • Connect paid performance to organic ranking, assortment strategy, and overall marketplace health.
  • Build forecasts and provide performance recommendations to leadership and finance.
  • Partner closely with marketplace management, merchandising, supply chain, and finance to ensure media supports in-stock, competitively priced, conversion-ready products.
  • Align campaigns to key retail moments including holiday peaks and promotional events.
  • Establish testing frameworks, measurement standards, and optimization best practices.
  • Evaluate and scale new ad formats, betas, and platform innovations.
  • Lead and develop a team of marketplace performance marketers.
