About The Position

Life360's marketing organization has experienced rapid growth across B2C and B2B, multiple international markets, and various specialist teams. This role is crucial for building the planning and budget infrastructure to match this scale. The Director, Marketing Planning & Operations will report to the VP Integrated Marketing and is responsible for establishing a single source of truth for the budget, a reliable planning cadence for all teams, and workflows that replace ad hoc coordination. Success in the first year will mean marketing leadership has a real-time view of spend and priorities, and every team understands how their work connects to the overall plan. The US-based salary range for this position is $137,000 to $252,000, with the final salary depending on factors like location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing Planning, Marketing Operations, or Strategy & Operations roles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to draft clear, concise, and impactful executive communications.
  • Stellar project management expertise with a strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding project deadlines.
  • Deep business acumen and curiosity for problem-solving, understanding business drivers, and engaging directly with the product.
  • Financial acumen, including hands-on experience managing complex budgets within matrixed or multidivisional organizations.
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset, with a history of building strong cross-functional partnerships across all organizational levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Subscription business model experience preferred.
  • International experience working across global teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drives end-to-end strategy and process across the marketing organization, ensuring alignment between business priorities and how marketing supports them.
  • Owns and drives long-range, annual, and quarterly planning—defining strategic pillars, establishing cross-team timelines, and collaborating with global marketing leadership to scale, adapt, and align marketing execution across international markets.
  • Facilitates brainstorm sessions for planning with clear structure, driving discussion, decisions, and next steps.
  • Produces and manages key marketing deliverables and executive templates, including QBR presentations (in collaboration with marketing leads), weekly status updates, monthly company newsletters, and Board of Directors materials.
  • Serves as a strategic thought partner to the CMO and marketing leads.
  • Ensures effective, cohesive operations across every team in the marketing organization.
  • Partners across all marketing functions—including Creative, Lifecycle, PMM, Paid Ads, and Integrated Marketing—to evaluate team operations, bridge cross-functional gaps, and establish unified workflows, templates, and processes that optimize execution and drive integrated performance.
  • Ensures every team understands how they collaborate and connect across the broader organization, identifying and building the cross-functional workflows to support this.
  • Owns the communication and rollout of new workflows and operating practices across the marketing org.
  • Supports the marketing organization through agency selection, management, and procurement.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements workflow tools that improve efficiency across individual teams and the organization as a whole.
  • Partners with the CMO and marketing leads to plan and manage annual and quarterly budgets.
  • Maintains a central budget system that enables accurate, real-time tracking across all teams and channels.
  • Partners closely with Finance to manage budgets, project metrics, and control costs across T&E and marketing investment areas, driving financial efficiency and maximum ROI.
  • Leads key stakeholder partnerships to align cross-team priorities, establishing consistent operating rhythms and communications that clarify budget expectations and streamline execution.
