About The Position

Wharton Executive Education is seeking a Director, Marketing Integration & Operations to keep cross-functional marketing work aligned across a complex, multi-portfolio organization. This role helps translate portfolio priorities into clear launch plans, campaign timelines, optimization processes, stakeholder updates, and decision-ready views of performance and budget. The Director leads through planning, coordination, and follow-through rather than owning a single marketing channel. The role partners closely with leaders across Marketing's functional areas, including Performance Marketing, Content & Communications, Creative, Digital Experience, Multimedia, and Marketing Automation & Lifecycle Operations, as well as external agencies and internal stakeholders. Working under the direction of the Senior Director, the Director helps connect priorities, plans, performance insights, budget inputs, and open decisions so teams have clear direction and leadership has visibility into progress, risks, and tradeoffs. The role is designed to support functional leaders by creating shared visibility, clarifying ownership, and keeping work moving from planning through launch and ongoing improvement. It helps the team move from insight to action by facilitating agreement on next steps, tracking follow-through, and escalating unresolved decisions to the Senior Director when needed.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in integrated marketing, account leadership, marketing operations, program leadership, budget coordination, or a similar cross-functional role (in-house, agency, consulting, or a mix).
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong judgment and ability to clarify priorities, surface tradeoffs, and keep work moving when timelines and priorities compete.
  • Comfort interpreting performance reporting and synthesizing cross-channel insights into clear stakeholder updates, decisions, and action plans, without needing to be the primary analyst.
  • Experience supporting budget tracking, planning, or investment management across multiple workstreams or partners.
  • Strong communication and follow-through skills; able to turn complex inputs into clear plans, performance narratives, budget views, and action lists.
  • Experience coordinating agencies and external partners across multi-workstream delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an advertising agency, consulting, higher education, executive education, or similarly matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology and measurement basics, including marketing automation, web analytics, campaign tracking, reporting workflows, and CRM-adjacent data inputs.
  • Experience developing or improving shared planning tools, project management practices, templates, calendars, dashboards, or team-wide operating rhythms.
  • Experience connecting performance insights, budget information, and stakeholder priorities into clear planning recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain shared planning tools, calendars, templates, and workflows that create a common view of launches, campaigns, priorities, decisions, and next steps.
  • Facilitate cross-functional launch planning for new programs and priority campaigns, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, owners, approvals, and readiness activities.
  • Maintain an integrated launch and campaign calendar across paid, web, email/lifecycle, content, creative, social, multimedia, and analytics-related workstreams.
  • Partner with functional leaders and program teams to confirm inputs, clarify handoffs, identify decision points, and improve planning practices while allowing functional areas to maintain specialized workflows where needed.
  • Facilitate regular optimization reviews with functional leaders and agency partners, connecting performance inputs across channels and surfacing opportunities, risks, and dependencies.
  • Help translate channel-level recommendations into agreed next steps, owners, timing, and decision points.
  • Track follow-through on performance-driven improvements, including creative rotation, landing page updates, nurture adjustments, tracking fixes, and related campaign refinements.
  • Escalate unresolved decisions, resource constraints, or priority tradeoffs to the Senior Director when needed.
  • Integrate channel-level performance inputs into clear cross-portfolio views that help explain what is planned, what is working, where there are risks, and what decisions are needed.
  • Partner with functional leaders, analytics resources, and agency partners to shape performance narratives for leadership and stakeholder updates.
  • Support budget visibility in partnership with Performance Marketing and the Senior Director, including planned spend, pacing, tradeoffs, and budget-related decision points.
  • Help connect performance insights and budget context to campaign planning, optimization discussions, and leadership recommendations.
  • Help keep timelines, dependencies, and deliverables aligned across external partners supporting launches, optimization, analytics inputs, budget visibility, and campaign support work, in partnership with the appropriate functional or vendor owner.
  • Support functional leaders in scoping conversations by clarifying objectives, deliverables, timing, review cycles, measurement needs, and budget implications.
  • Support communication with program teams, revenue/BD colleagues, and other internal stakeholders when launch or campaign support materials are required, ensuring the appropriate functional leaders remain engaged and visible.
  • Help prepare clear updates for both leadership and cross-functional working teams, summarizing progress, risks, dependencies, decisions needed, upcoming milestones, and agreed next steps.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce duplicative work, improve handoffs, and make shared information easier to access across the Marketing team.
  • Recommend practical improvements to planning, communication, project management, and reporting processes as team needs evolve.
  • Maintain lightweight playbooks, templates, and reusable tools that improve consistency and speed over time.
  • Support onboarding and adoption of new planning practices so functional leaders and team members can work with greater clarity and fewer one-off status requests.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
