About The Position

The Director, Marketing Events and Strategy position is within Johnson and Johnson MedTech Electrophysiology (JJMT EP) in Irvine, CA. This role reports to the VP of US Marketing and is focused on Customer and Employee Experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and collaborating with various functional areas within the organization, including marketing, clinical affairs, medical affairs, regulatory, R&D, and other corporate functions. The Director will interface comfortably with customers, the sales team, various industry societies, employee resource groups, and internal employees to achieve J&JMT EP strategic plans and business objectives. This role is critical in driving the success of J&JMT EP by effectively leading and collaborating with various stakeholders to support the organization's strategic plans and business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, creative, and strategic thinker with a strong focus on exceptional customer and employee experience. The position requires 40-50% domestic travel.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience
  • Commercial Marketing experience
  • Experience in the cardiovascular space, electrophysiology
  • Experience and success in working with and interacting with HCPs and Sales and Clinical organization
  • Ability to influence without authority and work with cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of brand strategic imperatives
  • Demonstrated success of collaboration with critical internal and external stakeholders and substantial customer interface
  • Track record of large scale event strategy, curating engaging customer experiences and successful execution
  • Understands business processes, high negotiation skills and capable of successfully conducting contract negotiations and vendor management
  • Experience successfully managing in a matrix environment
  • Up to 40% domestic travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy formulation, project management, and flawless execution of all US Commercial customer events, internal and external meetings (In person and Virtual) as well as oversight of content strategy and communication.
  • Collaborate closely with several functional areas within the organization including marketing, clinical affairs, medical affairs, regulatory, R&D, and other corporate functions to support J&JMT EP strategic plans and business objectives.
  • Provide leadership and insights to J&JMT EP senior leadership team for relevant congress activities including product theaters, commercially sponsored, and engagement events that directly support new product launch and business strategy.
  • Partner closely with fellow Marketing directors, therapy advancement teams, and other key stakeholders to formulate and execute an effective engagement strategy internally as well as externally.
  • Accountable for flawless execution of all key employee and customer engagements, ensuring our investments are effective and directly support business strategy and JJMT EP reputation.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain professional relationships with key vendors, scientific and professional societies, local and national Employee Resource Groups and act as a resource to all other team members who interact with these groups to ensure a streamlined and cohesive experience and minimize duplication of effort.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive and develop aligned engagement strategies across multiple stakeholder groups such as R&D, Professional Education, GSM, etc as it pertains to internal and external trainings and congresses.
  • Attend industry conferences to gather key information and provide insights to internal teams on trends and competitive strategies.
  • Support the planning and execution of MedTech global President’s trip as well as other global executive-sponsored engagements as necessary.
  • Lead the planning and execution of all field level regional meetings across the country, ensure portfolio and program strategy is effectively executed locally, work closely with all stakeholders to ensure lead capture and follow through strategy is in place.
  • Provide strategic input on the new business segment with Intracardiac Catheter (ICE) in interventional and structural heart space (national and local customer engagements).
  • Lead the creative and customer experience strategy for all BWI products and programs, supporting business strategy and vision.
  • Provide insights into employee experience and work closely with HR to identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience.
  • Manage P&L for US marketing programs as well as all events and engagements.
  • Recruit, retain and develop marketing talent and build the appropriate infrastructure to support a rapidly growing business unit, anticipating the evolving needs and capabilities to meet business objectives.
