About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is working with a large Manufacturing Company in Little Rock in to find a Director / Manager of Accounting Operations. The position is open to either level depending on the qualifications of the candidate. This position will sit in the Corporate Office and manage a large team scattered throughout the country. This position will lead a shared services team supporting all transactional accounting activities. This is a newly scoped role and is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys building process, managing distributed teams, and driving efficiency through technology and automation. Candidate will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable accounting operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting operations or shared services, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role overseeing transactional accounting functions
  • Experience managing remote teams and leading through clear metrics, expectations, and regular communication
  • Strong understanding of AP, cash application, T&E, and 1099 reporting processes, including control and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with expense reporting platforms and AP automation tools
  • Comfortable working within ERP environments and leveraging technology to drive automation and scale
  • Proven track record of process improvement, including standardization, centralization, and documentation of accounting workflows
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders in Accounting, Operations, IT, and Procurement

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the shared services accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Cash Application, employee expense reporting, corporate credit card administration, and 1099 reporting
  • Manage a remote team, setting clear performance expectations, providing coaching and development, and fostering a high-accountability, service-oriented culture
  • Oversee AP processing, vendor management workflows, and payment runs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls
  • Direct the cash application process, ensuring customer payments are applied accurately and on time, and partner with AR/credit teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Own the end-to-end employee expense reporting process, including policies, approvals, and compliance as the company transitions to Concur
  • Administer corporate credit card programs, including card issuance, limits, policies, monitoring, and alignment with expense reporting and controls
  • Oversee 1099 reporting processes to ensure compliance, accurate data collection, and timely filings
  • Serve as business owner for AP and expense automation initiatives, including implementation and optimization of AP automation tools
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting to ensure month-end close deadlines are met, reconciliations are completed, and transactional activity is accurately recorded
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and KPIs for shared services; regularly report out on performance to leadership
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and strengthen internal controls across all transactional processes
  • Collaborate with IT, Procurement, and Operations to support system enhancements, integrations, and continuous improvement projects
