About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Loan Administration to join our Lending Administration team. This critical leadership role is responsible for translating organizational strategy into operational excellence across loan and centralized processing administration. The Director will lead the development and execution of operational plans, deliver strong business results, and build and lead high‑performing teams. This role also ensures adherence to regulatory, policy, and internal control requirements while driving continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in a related role.
  • Demonstrated training and experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and credit adjudication.
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of people management and team development.
  • In‑depth understanding of lending systems and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of credit union or financial institution operations.
  • Experience leading operational planning, execution, and change initiatives.
  • Effective conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate corporate strategy into clear operational plans that drive results across loan and centralized administration.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to set priorities, allocate resources, and deliver efficient, member‑focused outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop departmental leaders, fostering accountability, engagement, and high performance.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics; proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and escalate as required.
  • Provide leadership for change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and effective execution across teams.
  • Ensure administration services are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of operational controls, including appropriate segregation of duties and risk mitigation practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Act as a liaison between administrative and sales‑focused teams to align service standards, metrics, and goals.
  • Leverage data and reporting to identify process gaps, root causes, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in budget development and operational planning, ensuring fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including FINTRAC, CRA, CIRO TPR, Payments Canada, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor external trends and regulatory changes, supporting sustainable business growth and operational readiness.
