The position will be responsible to direct and manage Air Canada Line Maintenance Operations Western. Responsibilities are broad and complex and include overall responsibility to coordinate and manage the Maintenance activities required to provide safe, serviceable aircraft that meet operational requirements while satisfying Transport Canada and the company’s high standards of airworthiness. The individual is responsible to manage resources that meet the assigned workload and corporate schedule with key objectives; improve station performance, improve productivity, and reduce out of service time. These responsibilities include financial analysis and performance management of the Western Base maintenance operations. The incumbent is also responsible for subsequent development of solutions and identification of opportunities to improve operational and financial performance of the region. The role will maintain and develop the level of qualifications, training and competency of Line Maintenance personnel. The individual will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, applicable laws, and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding, implement motivational strategies, developing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
