About The Position

Serves as a member of the Legal Affairs Department for Valley Health System, including Valley Health System, The Valley Hospital, Valley Home Care, and Valley Medical Group. Reporting to the General Counsel, this position provides legal counsel and guidance on a broad range of healthcare, regulatory, operational, governance, employment, litigation, real estate, transactional and business matters affecting the organization. The Attorney partners closely with leadership across the organization, including Compliance, Risk Management, Human Resources, Privacy & Security, and operational departments to identify and mitigate legal risks, support organizational initiatives , and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The position exercises independent judgment in managing assigned legal matters and delivering practical, business-oriented legal advice in support of day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative healthcare attorney with strong analytical, communications, and problem solving skills, and experience advising healthcare organizations on complex legal and regulatory issues.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of ten (10) years of legal practice with significant experience advising nonprofit hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, or other healthcare providers on regulatory, operational, transactional, and contractual, governance, employment and litigation matters.
Demonstrated experience managing litigation, overseeing outside counsel, and supporting complex healthcare business initiatives.
Strong ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and deliver practical legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
