About The Position

TNTP seeks a Part-time Director, Leadership Development for its Colorado Team, based in the Denver Metro Area. TNTP is a leading education nonprofit focused on transforming the public education system through research, policy, and consulting. They aim to ensure every young person can reach their full potential, educators are set up for success, and communities have the resources for opportunity pathways. TNTP works across the PK-12 system nationwide, collaborating with educators, leaders, and communities to achieve student success and promote academic, economic, and social mobility.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a school principal.
  • Proven track record of raising student achievement, preferably in high-need schools or with high-need populations.
  • Experience coaching and facilitating professional development for school leaders and teachers.
  • Immediate understanding of what effective teaching looks like.
  • Deep commitment to effective and rigorous instruction.
  • Ability to track and analyze performance data to uncover trends and act strategically.
  • Ability to communicate compelling feedback that motivates leaders, develops instruction, and accelerates student achievement.
  • Comfort tackling sensitive issues and modeling crucial conversations.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and attain and grow effective partnerships to meet common goals.
  • Distinguished track record in school leadership, with schools that achieved great things for their students.
  • Expertise in facilitating powerful learning experiences for adults.
  • Ability to design and implement professional development experiences.
  • Content expertise to create rich training materials, conceptualize meaningful interactive learning experiences, and facilitate training sessions for school leaders.
  • Ability to facilitate high-quality presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Strong public presentation skills and ability to provide thoughtful and compelling insights.
  • Knowledge of great teaching and learning that prepares students for success in college and career.
  • Understanding of the implications of instructional shifts required by standards for students, teachers, school leaders, and district staff.
  • History of tackling high stakes challenges head on and moving work forward toward successful outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and develop new approaches with limited guidance.
  • Ability to influence clients to make incremental change and take quantum leaps.
  • Deep background knowledge in the current education landscape.
  • Passion for embedding community engagement and involving communities in work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and manage implementation for client projects, including designing theories of action, monitoring progress, and ensuring outcomes are met.
  • Facilitate weekly goals-based coaching sessions tailored to individual leader needs.
  • Align systems, resources, and structures to support evolving program and project strategies.
  • Support innovation and development of new services by sharing best practices and collaborating across functions.
  • Contribute to state-level strategy and business development through proposal writing and generating ideas for new projects and partnerships.
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships, ensuring trust and satisfaction.
  • Invest internal and external stakeholders in a clear strategy to meet team/project goals and client needs.
  • Lead the customization and implementation of diagnostics to help clients identify academic and strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate and/or directly coach district and school leaders to build capacity for sustainability.
  • Effectively manage diverse teams, build inclusive team culture, and develop staff.
  • Create conditions for and model innovation, creativity, and experimentation.
  • Manage day-to-day work of project teams towards contract and project goals.
  • Actively shape and model behaviors that support TNTP’s culture and diversity and inclusion efforts.
