About The Position

ROC is a cutting-edge developer of computer vision based biometric and video analytic technologies. We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented leader to serve as our Director, Law Enforcement Solutions & Strategy. This role sits at the intersection of digital evidence, constitutional law, and advanced computer vision technology, and is critical to how ROC brings its solutions to market in regulated and high-stakes environments. The ideal candidate combines deep litigation and investigative experience with the ability to translate legal and operational requirements into scalable product and business strategies. You will act as a bridge between technical teams and end users, ensuring our solutions meet evidentiary and constitutional standards while supporting business development and customer success. This is a highly cross-functional, externally facing role with meaningful impact on product direction, market expansion, and client engagement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in law enforcement, criminal investigations, digital forensics, litigation support, or related environments.
  • Strong understanding of how digital evidence is collected, managed, and used in investigative and legal contexts.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, or advising on complex investigations or casework including experience preparing and presenting digital evidence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance required.
  • Working knowledge of constitutional considerations (including 1st and 4th Amendment implications) and relevant privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Ability to apply legal and policy concepts to real-world operational and product scenarios.
  • Comfort working with technical teams and developing a working understanding of software systems, cloud environments, and data workflows.
  • Ability to translate investigative and evidentiary requirements into product feedback and operational recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively across product, engineering, legal, and business teams in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Current active TS clearance a plus.
  • Experience working with or supporting law enforcement, intelligence, or domestic security organizations.
  • Familiarity with procurement, deployment, or operational environments in government settings.
  • Experience with digital forensics tools, evidence management platforms, or large-scale investigative databases.
  • Experience supporting technical customer deployments, training, or field operations in complex environments.
  • J.D. or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Active bar membership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of digital evidence and litigation support systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and legal end-users to ensure products meet evidentiary standards.
  • Identify and capture new opportunities within law enforcement and law enforcement-adjacent markets.
  • Leverage your professional network to expand our footprint in the domestic security market.
  • Provide high-level guidance on complex investigations, ensuring all systems align with the 1st and 4th Amendments, GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant regulations.
  • Offer expert insight to developers and business development teams into how digital evidence is collected, stored, and presented in court.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-stakes clients, ensuring successful deployment of products and long-term engagement.
