About The Position

The Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for the direction and coordination of personnel in Clinical Laboratory services. This includes performing chemical, microscopic, blood bank, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for disease diagnosis and treatment. The role ensures services are of the best quality, cost-contained, and expeditious. The Director is responsible for recognizing results or problems requiring referral to the Clinical Laboratory Pathologist, maintaining performance improvement activities within the department, participating in CQI activities, formulating the budget, and maintaining effective physician and intradepartmental relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or Physical Sciences required.
• Minimum of three years managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital (in non-waived testing).
• MT (ASCP) preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Masters degree in public health, hospital administration or business administration preferred.
• Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations preferred.
