About The Position

This role is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the design, development, and implementation of domain-level reports for IT Risk Management. The Director will lead a team to achieve excellence in developing and publishing accurate views of both Operational Risk and IT Risk profiles, including regional specifics. A key aspect of this role is establishing strong governance for all reports, securing necessary sign-offs from senior leaders and stakeholders. The position requires developing robust relationships with diverse stakeholders across the Enterprise, emphasizing collaboration and alignment on metrics and reporting. A primary objective is to drive standardization, consistency, and transparency in all risk reporting and insights. The role also involves identifying and investigating emerging risks, proactively engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create 'risk features' and strategic, actionable insights. Collaboration with domain owners is crucial to ensure clear messaging and accurate, sufficient reporting. The Director will provide effective challenge on all risk materials before presentation to committees, including preparing necessary speaking notes and communications. A strategic approach is needed to deliver critical Operational and IT Risk information to senior leaders, boards, and committees. The role requires staying informed about regulatory developments, industry best practices, and leading trends in governance, and responding to regulatory and Internal Audit requests. Ad-hoc assignments are expected as priorities shift within the department, requiring flexible resource allocation.

Requirements

  • University graduate or equivalent
  • Professional designations i.e. CRISC, CISSP, PMP
  • Strong Risk Management foundation, experience specifically with IT Risk.
  • Attention to detail is essential and non-negotiable.
  • Solid communication skills (both written and oral) and strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills to communicate with multiple stakeholders including senior management.
  • Ability to manage well under pressure and tight deadlines; works well with changing priorities in a dynamic small team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive standardization, consistency, and transparency across all elements of risk reporting and insights.
  • Identify and investigate emerging risks, taking initiative to engage with SMEs to create ‘risk features’ and strategic and actionable insights.
  • Work in collaboration with domain owners to ensure messaging is clear, and reporting is accurate and sufficient.
  • Provide effective challenge on all risk materials prior to presentation to committees, including preparing required speaking notes and communications.
  • Establish a strategic strategy to deliver critical Operational and IT Risk information to senior leaders, boards and committees.
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory developments, industry best practices and leading trends in governance practices. Responds to regulatory and Internal Audit as required.
  • As priorities shift within the department, ad-hoc assignments will inevitably occur, and resources are expected to be allocated as needed.
