About The Position

As the Director, IT Program Management, you‘ll be joining CIBC’s Cybersecurity, Third Party & Resilience (CTPR) Portfolio & Project Management Office (P&PMO) team to manage delivery of a portfolio of innovative projects. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of 5 to 10 Project Managers and Project Coordinators. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in end to end project delivery and project management as an IT Director, or in a similar role.
  • Deliver results in a matrix environment where they may not have direct influence on project resources.
  • Previous experience establishing and maintaining stakeholder and sponsor relationships.
  • Experience in integration projects.
  • Keen interest in architecture and high level design.
  • Certified professional with current accreditation and good standing in project management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day activities of highly complicated project(s), in an inter-related strategic program following Technology’s project performance standards.
  • Perform high tactical business planning and return on investment outcomes.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, control and close out the program or project with an emphasis on project inter-dependency management.
  • Establish and reinforce department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all necessary risk assessments and risk assessment processes are carried out at the appropriate time.
  • Ensure projects for which they are responsible meet the requirements of CIBC’s standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with CTPR business teams to identify technology needs and align application services to support those needs.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder, client and senior management relationships.
  • Effectively manage engagement of senior leaders and executive sponsors.
  • Be a daring and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people.
  • Direct, motivate, develop and manage performance of the management team and key staff.
