About The Position

The Director IT, ESS Group Business Relationship Manager serves as the senior IT leader and strategic business partner for Eaton's Electrical Sector Solutions (ESS) Group, including the Services, Power Systems Division (PSD), and Critical Power Solutions (CPS) businesses. This role is responsible for aligning technology strategy with business priorities and enabling operational excellence through digital capabilities, data, and technology investments. The Director partners closely with ESS leadership to drive digital transformation, improve operational performance, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value. The position leads the ESS digital thread strategy, ensuring alignment of systems, data, and processes across engineering, manufacturing, delivery, and service operations. The role also develops Business Relationship Management (BRM) talent, drives technology governance, and supports growth, operational improvement, and digital transformation initiatives across the ESS portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology, digital transformation, business technology, or operational leadership.
  • 5+ years leading enterprise-wide digital transformation, ERP, operational technology (OT), enterprise architecture, or process improvement initiatives.
  • 5+ years developing technology strategies, digital roadmaps, or operating models within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or services environments.
  • 3+ years managing technology portfolios, capital budgets, investments, and vendor relationships.
  • 3+ years of manager of people experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, engineered-product, or service-based operations.
  • Experience partnering with executive business leaders and presenting technology strategies, business cases, or investment recommendations.
  • Experience leading enterprise platform implementations, integrations, or digital transformation programs across multiple business units.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience leading IT within a multi-site manufacturing, industrial, or services organization.
  • Experience leading SAP ECC, Salesforce, field service management, or ERP transformation programs.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent operational excellence experience.
  • Experience with OT, Industry 4.0, digital thread, digital manufacturing, or AI-enabled business solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ECC, Salesforce, Ignition, and related enterprise technologies.

  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and delivering measurable business outcomes through technology investments.
  • Strong business acumen across service, manufacturing, and engineered-product environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior IT business partner for the ESS Group, supporting the Services, PSD, and CPS businesses.
  • Partner with the ESS Group President, divisional leaders, and enterprise IT teams to align technology investments with business strategy and operational objectives.
  • Define and execute the ESS IT strategy and operating model to improve efficiency, scalability, operational performance, and customer outcomes.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and business operations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for strategic technology initiatives, including Salesforce, SAP ECC, field service management, operational technology (OT) connectivity, capacity expansion, and operational improvement programs.
  • Drive operational excellence through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Own the ESS digital thread strategy, ensuring data integrity, process alignment, and system integration across the product and service lifecycle.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to support adoption of new technologies, business processes, and ways of working.
  • Develop and mentor BRM and IT leaders while building organizational capability and succession strength.
  • Establish and govern technology investment priorities, including portfolio management, capital planning, risk management, vendor oversight, and benefits realization.
  • Evaluate and prioritize technology investments using business cases, financial analysis, operational metrics, and expected return on investment.
  • Monitor business outcomes and ensure technology investments deliver measurable and sustainable value.
