About The Position

Advanced Energy is seeking a Director of IT Business Operations & PMO to transform how its global IT organization prioritizes investments, governs delivery, and uses portfolio information to drive action. Reporting directly to the EVP & CIO, this leader will lead a business-oriented IT PMO and strengthen the IT leadership team’s operating model. The role establishes clear visibility into priorities, progress, risks, dependencies, resources, and financial considerations, and oversees selected IT business operations, including leadership governance, executive and Board communications, budget coordination, cross-functional follow-through, and process improvement. The Director will transform the IT PMO into a function focused on decisions, delivery, and measurable value; establish proportionate governance for initiatives; and govern a portfolio of approximately 10–15 major or complex IT initiatives through the PMO and accountable delivery leaders. The role also oversees a custom platform for managing projects, resources, and time; partners with Finance and IT leaders on financial tracking, budget visibility, forecasting, and resource planning; and leads geographically distributed teams supporting project management and IT financial and business operations. This is an on-site/in-office role at Advanced Energy’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado, in a typical office environment. The position requires 10+ years of leadership experience in an IT PMO, technology portfolio management, program management, or a related IT function. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is required. The starting pay range is $199,000 to $225,000 per year.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
