What Investor Relations contributes to Cardinal Health Investor Relations is responsible for the communication of financial results and business strategies to investors and channeling investment community insights on Cardinal Health, competitors and industry to senior management. Investor Relations partners with management and other functions to develop and disseminate the company’s key investor messages and keep the investment community up to date on the company’s investment thesis. Additionally, Investor Relations briefs and counsels management on matters affecting the company's relationships with the investment community. Responsibilities Serve as a company spokesperson and secondary IR contact for day-to-day external inquiries from investors and analysts, ensuring accurate, consistent and timely responses Key contributor to the quarterly earnings release and investor event prep processes, including creation and review of press release, conference call scripts, and Q&A documents Monitor investment community activities and counsel senior management regarding dynamics affecting the stock price, disclosure, and investor perceptions Prepare and review quarterly updates for senior management and/or the Board of Directors regarding Investor Relations activities, including stock performance, valuation trends, investment community perceptions and the company’s shareholder base Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Communications and other departments to ensure accurate and appropriate financial disclosures and support the company’s objectives Ad hoc finance responsibilities supporting organization’s goals, requests and projects Position interacts with senior management (including CEO and CFO) and business leaders, as well as members of the investment community (investors and security analysts) Credibility to maintain positive relationships and provide strategic counsel to others, including recommendations to senior management Decisions have an extended impact on work outcomes and internal and external stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; MBA or other advanced degree/certification (e.g., CFA or CPA) preferred 8+ years of progressive experience in investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, sell-side research, accounting or other relevant field preferred Broad and deep knowledge of finance and the capital markets Healthcare industry experience A proven ability to build relationships and skillfully & tactfully manage both internal and external stakeholders Strong attention to detail, finance and business acumen, communications skills and executive presence Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted partner to management Strategic thought leadership, communication, and credibility to influence Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AI models Ability to travel - 10% What is expected of you and others at this level Provides leadership to managers and experienced professional staff; may also manage front line supervisors Manages an organizational budget Develops and implements policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals Assists in the development of functional strategy Decisions have an extended impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers Interacts with internal and/or external leaders, including senior management Persuades others into agreement in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships
