About The Position

We are seeking a leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering development projects within the organization. This role focuses on managing cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar technical field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record to drive complex, multi-discipline development projects to completion on time and on budget
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and leading high-performing technical teams
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive change, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project; familiarity with ERP is a plus
  • Able to travel (up to 10%) as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor engineering project managers and technical leads responsible for internal development initiatives; these could include both internally and externally funded activities and programs that conclude with the transition of products to scale manufacturing
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple concurrent engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to define project priorities, requirements, and success criteria
  • Utilize project management best practices, tools, and standards to improve project visibility, predictability, and performance. Project execution will follow with Nel Design & Development processes as applicable
  • Allocate and manage internal engineering resources efficiently to maximize productivity and project outcomes
  • Identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks impacting project delivery; proactively resolve issues to maintain momentum
  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within engineering teams
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies, engineering methodologies, and process improvements that drive operational excellence
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
