Director, Internal Audit
About The Position
Florida Power & Light Company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Internal Audit to join their dynamic Internal Audit team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing an internal audit team that focuses on IT auditing and consulting and supports financial audits, SOX testing, and other projects. As the Director of Internal Audit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls, identifying areas of improvement, and making recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and risk management. This position works closely with employees and leaders across the company, so strong communications and interpersonal skills are required. Successful candidates should also have strong project management, process improvement, and analytical skills. This job identifies, evaluates, and improves the effectiveness of company governance, risk management, and financial reporting controls and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- 10+ years of experience
- 5+ years of Supervisor/Management Experience
Nice To Haves
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master's Degree
Responsibilities
- Oversees and directs a team of internal auditors responsible for multiple audits, SOX control testing and related reporting
- Meets and consults with business unit management on audit related matters
- Advises and provides insight to Executive Management on related audit findings
- Presents Audit Committee with an independent appraisal of the adequacy and effectiveness of the company’s system of internal controls
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
