About The Position

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking dynamic and visionary leader to join our Information Management Group as the IT Director for Intelligent Automation & Advanced Analytics. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or related field and 10 years experience, or Bachelor's degree in a related field and 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience for an integrated data protection, privacy and controlled information system(s)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with intelligent automation, including exposure to modern tools and techniques, governance, centers of excellence, and automation techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise AI strategy, governance, or responsible-AI program development — including model risk management, AI policy development, or AI vendor/platform evaluation and having led this function in another organization
  • Direct experience with agentic AI, large language models, and generative AI governance in an enterprise or regulated setting
  • Exposure to advanced analytics tools and techniques
  • Exposure to intelligent automation tools including RPA, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
  • Experience in Centers of Excellence or similar structures including request intake, scoring, prioritization, cross-organization governance, solutions delivery, and overall operations
  • Experience establishing AI/data ethics frameworks (fairness, and bias monitoring) in a compliance-sensitive industry
  • Experience building or scaling citizen-development or champions-network adoption programs
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) and Data Insights & Advanced Analytics CoE.
  • Foster the use of Intelligent Automation techniques to optimize lab wide processes.
  • Create systems within the Laboratory to manage business data as a valuable resource.
  • Drive the development and deployment of the enterprise's intelligent automation and data & analytics platforms for digital business.
  • Lead strategy and the development of intelligent automation techniques and data & analytics products.
  • Collaborate relevant directorate directors, CTO and CIO to ensure digital products are released on time, on budget and with high quality.
  • Identify and standardize the use and governance of data and analytics in support of the Lab’s business strategy. This includes the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications and automated decision making.
  • Demonstrate leadership, mentorship and strong INL values.
  • Ensure Laboratory records and documents are properly curated and accessible.
  • Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to AI data and analytics assets.
  • Develop and maintain controls on data quality and reliability to effectively manage risk associated with the use of data and analytics.
  • Create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of Laboratory information assets through a defined life cycle, from acquisition or creation to end of life destruction and disposal procedures.
  • Create and implement systems for data infrastructure, management, accuracy, security and privacy; data analytics and intelligence; data integrity and availability.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity to implement the program for an integrated data protection, privacy and controlled information system(s).
