About The Position

As a Director, Insights, you will lead the analytics strategy for a portfolio of client business by turning complex media, performance, and business data into clear measurement frameworks, learning agendas, and high-value recommendations. You’ll serve as the senior analytics partner to client and internal leaders, helping them understand what is happening across channels, why it matters, and what should happen next. This role is highly client-facing and best suited for someone who combines strong measurement judgment, consultative presence, and business acumen with enough technical fluency to guide sophisticated analytical work without personally operating as a data scientist or data engineer every day.

Requirements

  • 10-12+ years of experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, management consulting, or a related field, with meaningful client-facing strategic leadership experience.
  • Proven track record designing measurement frameworks and learning agendas for large brands or complex businesses, with a focus on long-term brand health and enterprise-level business outcomes.
  • Deep familiarity with the application and interpretation of MMM concepts, incrementality testing, unified measurement approaches, and broader modern measurement trade-offs.
  • Prior experience in CPG and/or Retail is strongly preferred, including familiarity with syndicated and retail-oriented data sources and path-to-purchase dynamics.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clarity, confidence, and commercial acumen.
  • Strong working understanding of BI tools, cloud data environments, SQL, and analytical methods; able to collaborate credibly with analysts, engineers, and data scientists without being a deep engineering owner.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve personal and team effectiveness, encourage responsible experimentation, and coach others in role-appropriate, trust-but-verify use of AI.
  • Demonstrated success leading analytics talent, growing capability, and improving the quality of strategic outputs through others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytically oriented field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business) or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of holistic, enterprise-level measurement frameworks that move beyond channel-specific metrics to capture broader business impact.
  • Design and oversee multi-year learning agendas and sophisticated testing roadmaps that align with long-term client objectives and strategic business questions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on measurement strategy, analytical implications, and industry shifts.
  • Identify opportunities where advanced analytics can solve business problems, help scope the right analytical approach, and support the growth of high-value analytics work.
  • Act as the senior guardian of the analytical relationship, proactively identifying potential friction points and ensuring insights remain indispensable to client success.
  • Use and shape reporting, BI, dashboarding, and insight-delivery environments so they better support strategic decision-making and client storytelling.
  • Partner with BI and Data Engineering leads to ensure the data environment supports the strategic vision without requiring you to personally own underlying pipelines or code infrastructure.
  • Help improve how analytics outputs are surfaced to clients and internal teams, including dashboards, visualizations, and strategic readouts.
  • Stay current on new technologies, data platforms, and measurement developments, and recommend improvements that strengthen the quality, speed, and usefulness of analytics delivery.
  • Bring strong technical fluency to cross-functional discussions so analytics, BI, and engineering teams can work toward the same business and client priorities.
  • Lead the design of measurement frameworks that connect media performance to business outcomes, long-term brand health, and enterprise-level ROI.
  • Guide the use of advanced methods such as incrementality testing, forecasting, campaign evaluation, and broader modern measurement approaches where appropriate.
  • Help clients navigate the transition to more modern measurement approaches, including privacy-safe strategies and more integrated views of marketing effectiveness.
  • Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, decision-useful, and clearly tied to the client’s business strategy and KPIs.
  • Distill complex statistical and methodological concepts into clear business implications and recommendation pathways for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Keep the function focused on insight, recommendation, and decision support—not analytics for its own sake.
  • Serve as the strategic connection between Planning, Investment, Media, and Analytics teams so data-driven insights are embedded into client planning and optimization decisions.
  • Help raise the organization’s analytical maturity by improving how teams use data, connect cross-channel signals, and turn findings into action.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of how measurement, planning, business context, and cross-channel execution fit together so analytics recommendations support the full marketing system.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in measurement, privacy, AI, and media analytics and help clients and internal teams understand the implications.
  • Support the creation of stronger POVs and narratives around evolving industry changes, including major shifts in data and measurement practices.
  • Take accountability for the quality, usefulness, and business relevance of analytics strategy and outputs across your client scope.
  • Turn broad, ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches with clear priorities, methods, and decision pathways.
  • Identify and escalate growth opportunities where stronger measurement or deeper analytical work can unlock client and agency value.
  • Improve standards, workflows, and analytical rigor over time so the team produces stronger recommendations more consistently.
  • Apply a curious, growth-oriented mindset to the work and help others do the same.
  • Manage and develop direct reports at the Senior Analyst and/or Manager level, including career development, goal setting, delegation, and ongoing feedback.
  • Build stronger analytical and consultative capability across the team by coaching people to tell clearer stories with data and think more strategically.
  • Maintain clear standards for analytical quality, communication, and strategic usefulness of outputs.
  • Support hiring, capability building, training, and succession planning for the Insights team in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Foster a strong, people-first team culture rooted in accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
