About The Position

This role is responsible for helping drive the effectiveness of the IM GLO legal organization through strategic planning, leadership team operations, organizational performance, communications, portfolio management, and execution of key priorities. The Director serves as the primary integrator across the IM legal organization, partnering closely with the IM General Counsel, IM leadership team, IM General Counsel Executive Assistant, Legal Innovation & Transformation team, Finance, HR, Communications, and other functions to ensure effective execution of strategic priorities. This position combines elements of Chief of Staff, strategy, business operations, portfolio management, and transformation leadership to drive organizational effectiveness and maximize legal value delivered to the business.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in legal, business, strategy, operations, management consulting, project management, finance, organizational effectiveness, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, leadership teams, or complex global organizations, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide initiatives and drive results across highly matrixed organizations through influence, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong business acumen and experience in strategic planning, organizational management, budget management, operational excellence, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience leveraging data, metrics, and insights to support decision-making and organizational performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, change management, process improvement, technology implementation, or innovation initiatives.
  • Experience developing executive presentations, communications, briefing materials, and business cases for senior leadership audiences.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships across functions and effectively coordinate resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, inclusion, and fostering high-performing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • A JD, MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of legal department operations, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical technology, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
  • Experience working with data analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, knowledge management, project management, or other business enablement capabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic advisor and operational partner to the WW VP, IM General Counsel and Sector Legal Leadership Team, helping drive execution of strategic priorities, organizational objectives, and key leadership initiatives.
  • Lead the operating cadence of the leadership team, ensuring effective governance, alignment, decision-making, accountability, and follow-through across the organization while partnering closely with the General Counsel’s Executive Assistant to coordinate leadership forums, offsites, communications, and annual planning activities.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through the development and oversight of key performance indicators, dashboards, metrics, budget planning, workforce planning, and executive reporting.
  • Analyze organizational performance, resource allocation, workload trends, and operational opportunities to provide data-driven insights that support leadership decision-making and ensure the legal organization delivers measurable value to the business.
  • Lead high-impact strategic initiatives on behalf of the IM General Counsel and IM Leadership Team, including organizational transformation, operating model enhancements, process improvements, technology adoption, and AI-enabled innovation.
  • Partner closely with the Global Strategy Leader and work across the entire Legal Innovation & Transformation organization to identify and implement leading practices, coordinate specialized support resources, and ensure the sector effectively leverages enterprise capabilities in areas such as project management, analytics, knowledge management, training, technology, automation, change management, and performance improvement.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies that advance leadership priorities, strengthen organizational alignment, and foster engagement across the legal organization.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the IM Legal Organization and enterprise partners, including Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Technology, and Legal Innovation & Transformation, driving collaboration, influencing outcomes, and ensuring successful execution of sector and enterprise priorities in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Support the cadence and operating effectiveness of the IM Legal Leadership Team, including alignment, decision-making, accountability, and follow-through across key initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the General Counsel’s Executive Assistant and enterprise partners to coordinate leadership forums, offsites, communications, annual planning, and change management so Sector priorities are executed consistently as part of the broader Legal Innovation & Transformation agenda.
