About The Position

As a result of accelerated growth and new large-scale infrastructure projects, Altus is looking for a new Director, Infrastructure. You will play a critical role in executing the growth strategy for infrastructure project delivery and cost consulting, leveraging your industry knowledge, contacts, and capabilities to identify, pursue and win $2 million in new business annually. You will provide business development, project management and senior advisory services directly to public and private sector clients. This senior leadership role involves guiding a multidisciplinary team, advancing business development efforts, and overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects that strengthen regional connectivity and sustainability. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience in rail and transit, a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, and a strong commitment to innovation.

Requirements

  • You have a degree or diploma in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • You have senior-level expertise in infrastructure, engineering, building cost planning and monitoring and project management.
  • You have expertise in reviewing infrastructure development plans from drawings to spreadsheets, taking an innovative or alternative project management approach to deliver all aspects of large infrastructure, progressive projects successfully.
  • You have existing senior-level contacts in the industry, both public and private sectors.
  • You can anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of clients, and you are driven to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • You can innovate solutions to keep the project - and the business - moving forward.
  • You can influence and inspire a cross-functional team, coach and mentor junior individuals, review and guide work products and roll up your sleeves as a critical collaborator.
  • You can plan and deliver multiple complex projects with competing priorities, on time and on budget.
  • You can read engineering drawings and quantity take-offs.
  • You are proficient with Sharepoint and MS Office, including skills in Excel and construction cost estimating tools.
  • You understand the general concepts of project finance and implementing progressive delivery models.
  • You can build and foster relationships with internal and client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects, gathering information and eliciting cooperation both onsite and virtually.
  • You are an effective communicator who can clarify ambiguities and present information in a structured way that makes sense.
  • You can relay delays and setbacks while managing expectations and retaining the client's confidence.
  • You have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be the highest point of contact for prospects and clients, fostering strong relationships and delivering outstanding service.
  • Be critical of business development, leading the pre-bid work and delivering presentations.
  • Oversee the team as they provide a full range of technical, commercial, and contractual infrastructure cost consulting services to new and existing clients.
  • Meet with an onsite supervisor to compare drawings to progress, make assessments, and align expectations and deliverables.
  • Play a strategic role in building development planning.
  • Partner with peers across other Business Units to explore opportunities for cross‐selling and up‐selling additional services.
  • In partnership with senior leadership, you will develop and implement the marketing, and synergy plans for the assigned offices.
  • Hire and nurture a team, set expectations and deliverables, and manage day-to-day tasks and overall performance.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and motivation to build the team's knowledge and expand the expertise of services offered.
  • Communicate business direction to the teams and ensure alignment of individual goals with business objectives.
  • Attend industry events and company initiatives, acting as a thought-leader and subject matter expert, sharing information and insights wherever possible.
  • Implement plans in the local markets to increase revenues and profit by building client satisfaction, commitment and loyalty.
