Director, Infrastructure & Operations (I&O), Hosting Solutions
About The Position
The AD/Director of Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) Hosting will be responsible for managing teams of Infrastructure Engineers specialized in building hosting solutions including: compute, storage, virtualization, database, disaster recovery, backup and restore, etc. We currently seek an experienced, self-motivated individual to lead and manage the IT hosting organization across Biogen’s global compute and storage platforms. The leader will build out and lead a highly skilled hosting internal team as well as our external managed service provider to provide a robust, scalable, stable and cost-effective environment.

- Experienced leader who can develop a compelling 3-5 year strategy to support Biogen’s hosting needs into the future.

Responsibilities
- Manage colleagues that deliver current and future hosting infrastructure solutions, architectures, standards, and quality assurance.
- Oversee installation, maintenance and configuration of compute and storage components to ensure consistency and integrity.
- Accountable for overall operations of our hosted platforms and associated processes including compliance to approved standards and consistent sharing of performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, service providers and business units on shared goals and projects that satisfy business, functional, and operational objectives.
- Develop and maintain a 3-5 year strategy, implementation roadmaps, resource allocations and management leadership to project teams.
- Ensure monitoring and alerting of compute, storage and related systems.
- Review monthly key management reports denoting compute and storage health, availability, and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Drive efficiencies through continuous improvement of delivery methodologies and practices
- Stay current on industry trends and new technologies to recommend initiatives for improvements and growth.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on network and storage products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Manage service level standards and ensure all compute and storage infrastructure activities (implementation, maintenance and support) are carried out in accordance with organization change control, technical policies, best practices and standards.
