Who are we looking for?The Director, IT, MEIS will serve as the senior IT leader for the Industrial & Specialty businesses, acting as a strategic partner to segment leadership and a champion of business-driven technology solutions. This individual will be accountable for managing IT demand across the segment, delivering key digital and business system transformation initiatives, and ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of core SAP ERP systems that support manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, and commercial activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technology / engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years in Information Technology
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role supporting industrial or manufacturing businesses.
  • Proven experience managing SAP ERP platforms ( ECC & S/4 HANA)
  • Track record of leading digital transformation and large-scale IT projects within a business unit or division.
  • Strong understanding of business processes across supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and commerical functions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational culture shifts toward digital innovation.
  • Works well with distributed, multicultural, multi-language teams
  • Highly self-motivated and able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment and perform under pressure with multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial
  • Ability to engage and facilitate large group discussions, gain consensus and root out solutions
  • Able to coach and mentor others

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Masters degree in related technology field.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, PMO, CMM and Six Sigma methodologies and standards
  • Chemical Industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Business Systems Operations (Focus on SAP)
  • Own operational performance and continuous improvement of SAP and associated systems supporting the Industrial & Specialty segment.
  • Collaborate with shared service teams to ensure system reliability, data integrity, and support performance.
  • Segment IT Strategy & Demand Management
  • Serve as the primary IT partner to the Industrial & Specialty segment leadership team.
  • Translate segment strategies into IT initiatives aligned with enterprise architecture and digital roadmaps.
  • Own the IT demand management process, ensuring projects are prioritized based on business value and operational impact.
  • Program & Project Leadership
  • Accountable and Lead key IT programs and projects within the Industrial & Specialty segment, including ERP improvements, AI/automation pilots, and business integration initiatives.
  • Take accountability for successful execution of strategic programs, delivering on scope, timeline, and budget commitments.
  • Own & Drive cross-functional alignment between business, IT, and external vendors.
  • People & Vendor Leadership
  • Lead a segment-aligned IT team (direct or matrixed), fostering a customer-focused, delivery-oriented culture.
  • Manage vendor relationships for segment-relevant services and platforms.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and upskilling within the IT organization.
  • Governance, Budget, and Performance
  • Oversee IT budget planning and performance management for the Industrial & Specialty segment.
  • Participate in enterprise IT governance bodies, representing segment interests and aligning with broader strategies.
