About The Position

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the organization's day-to-day IT operations while advancing the company's technology capabilities, systems reliability, infrastructure, and business application support. This role oversees technical teams, core business systems, helpdesk and support functions, infrastructure operations, vendors, and key technology initiatives. The Director partners with business leaders to align IT services and projects with organizational goals, improve operational efficiency, and support scalable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including meaningful experience leading teams, managing operations, and delivering technology projects.
  • Experience overseeing IT infrastructure, networks, systems administration, security, databases, storage, telecommunications, and end-user computing.
  • Experience managing enterprise applications and supporting cross-functional business operations.
  • Strong understanding of project management, systems implementation, and technology support models.
  • Experience working with vendors and external service providers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Experience with data warehousing, analytics, reporting platforms, ETL processes, and REST API integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily IT operations, including infrastructure, systems administration, helpdesk, end-user support, and service delivery.
  • Supervise and develop IT staff, including onsite, remote, and offshore team members where applicable.
  • Oversee the performance, availability, maintenance, and support of enterprise technology systems and back-office platforms.
  • Manage and enhance core business applications, including finance, HR, payroll, accounting, and other internal systems.
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver technology solutions aligned to business needs.
  • Support the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing administration of business systems such as CRM platforms and analytics/reporting environments.
  • Lead or support data warehouse, reporting, ETL, API, and systems integration efforts that improve access to business insights and operational data.
  • Monitor system performance, service levels, and issue resolution to ensure reliable delivery of IT services.
  • Develop, document, and enforce IT policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage third-party vendors, consultants, software providers, and hosted service partners to ensure performance, value, and support quality.
  • Assist with IT budgeting, technology planning, forecasting, and purchasing decisions.
  • Support cybersecurity, compliance, business continuity, and risk management efforts across IT operations.
  • Lead technology projects from planning through implementation, including scope, staffing, timelines, testing, training, and rollout.
  • Promote excellent internal customer service by ensuring timely response to support requests and clear communication with end users.
  • Recommend technology improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and business effectiveness.
