About The Position

Lead the Agentic AI Transformation across the organization to drive massive productivity gains, reduce teammate burnout, improve clinical outcomes, and accelerate value. This critical leadership role serves as the bridge between healthcare strategy, clinical user experience, business needs, and technical execution. The FDE will leverage the organization’s longitudinal patient data, deep payer relationships, and clinical infrastructure to rapidly deploy AI agents (e.g., in care coordination, clinical documentation, and operational workflows) and establish a competitive advantage in kidney care.

Requirements

  • Hybrid Expertise: A rare blend of skills sitting at the intersection of clinical care, healthcare strategy, business, and hands-on prototyping/technology.
  • Clinical & Strategic Foundation: Deep domain knowledge of kidney care, population health, clinical delivery bottlenecks, and payer contract mechanics. (Background as a physician or experience in top-tier healthcare strategy consulting is highly relevant).
  • Proven GenAI Experience: Demonstrated track record of turning AI concepts into tangible, deployed solutions (such as GenAI-powered tools for RFP responses or clinical workflows).
  • Analytics & Data Mastery: Expert-level understanding of healthcare data architecture, claims analytics, and data transformation within health systems.
  • Constant Learning Mindset: Ability to rapidly monitor, learn, and apply the constantly shifting external AI landscape to organization-specific contexts.
  • Execution-Oriented: Highly accountable and passionate about driving real-world outcomes at the intersection of healthcare and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the critical translation layer between business/clinical realities and technical architecture. Bridge the gap between clinical workflows, payer contract structures, regulatory environments, and multi-agentic AI development.
  • Take full accountability for the AI deployment lifecycle. Move beyond advisory functions to execute and own everything from initial clinical problem scoping to building functional Proofs of Concept (POCs), testing, scaling with tech teams, and driving ultimate ROI realization.
  • Hands-on development of tangible AI solutions and functional POCs (e.g., performance dashboards, care coordination hubs, automated triggers) that meet exact business needs. Goal of shipping initial full products within aggressive timelines (e.g., 90 days).
  • Design deployments that prioritize clinical safety, compliance, and user trust. Ensure AI tools enhance rather than disrupt teammate workflows while actively managing the change adoption process on the front lines.
  • Utilize expertise in claims analytics and healthcare data architecture to ensure the foundational data layers required for AI agents are properly structured and functional.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out
  • Family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access Headspace®, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and more
  • Professional development programs
  • On-demand virtual leadership and development courses through DaVita’s online training platform StarLearning.
