About The Position

The Director, Information Technology (IT) Business Operations is responsible for upholding the profitability and values of the IT organization by leading business operations across Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Duties include but are not limited to consulting with senior leadership personnel to determine business goals or initiatives, visiting with directors or department managers to relay information about company needs, and reviewing operational data to make inferences about division success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in business administration and/or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 or more years of managerial experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Proven strategic planning, contract management, and budgeting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting quarterly and annual goals.
  • Experience building and scaling teams and systems.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in business administration and the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of 15 or more years of managerial experience.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT Contracts/Vendor Management and IT Finance departments.
  • Monitor and oversee the management of Division capital and operating budgets, assisting in monitoring and controlling IT costs. Defines Division strategy and methodology for effective forecasting and other controlling mechanisms. Oversee management and development of the IT costing model and work with the IT Project Management Office (PMO) to support MyProject Request management and IT Portfolio management.
  • Develop and implement contract staff policies and procedures, including vendor management, invoice management, role/responsibility definition, and standard contract/Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.
  • Assist Division-wide leadership in recruitment, retention, and engagement needs for team members through close collaboration with HMH Corporate Human Resources.
  • Understand requirements for aligning IT resource management strategies with overall enterprise financial and human resource planning and make recommendations to leadership regarding necessary shifts.
  • Manage business relationships with internal and external team members for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
  • Establish and manage vendors to standard service agreements and/or contracts as applicable.
  • Support divisional needs for Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Proposal (RFP) development and evaluation in coordination with HMH Purchasing.
  • Provide input into and recommendations for target investment mix for IT to support organizational goals.
  • Maintain an awareness of business processes and associated activities.
  • Provide input into and recommendations for continual improvement of services.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
