About The Position

Small Girls PR is growing and is looking for a Director with 7-9 years of experience to join its influencer marketing team, working with exciting brands across fashion, food & beverage, consumer tech, and more. The agency prides itself on offering meaningful and diversified experience due to its varied client base, which has included work on the main stage at CES, announcing Esusu as one of the first Black-owned tech unicorns, cheering on the powerful women of the WNBA with a well-known ticketing platform, helping pet owners communicate with their dogs through a psychic for Rover, and piloting influencer marketing programs for B2B brands. This role will be based in the NYC office, working two days a week on a hybrid schedule. Small Girls PR is part of Orchestra, a communications company that has acquired nine firms since 2022.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-9+ years of relevant experience within the influencer marketing space (agency or in-house).
  • Experience negotiating contracts, creating and managing successful influencer campaigns, and maintaining a strong network of influencer and agent relationships.
  • A bold, strategic thinker who consistently pushes beyond the expected to develop breakthrough ideas that elevate brands and spark conversation.
  • Ability to translate cultural insights into ownable, multi-channel campaign concepts that drive measurable impact and distinguish clients in crowded markets.
  • Ability to inspire teams, sharpen ideas through thoughtful feedback, and raise the creative bar across every brief.
  • Capable of understanding clients’ businesses, able to provide counsel and guidance both in plans and in ad-hoc conversations.
  • Proven track record of developing strategic influencer and press campaigns that achieve client goals and KPIs.
  • Ability to monitor progress of personal and team deliverables as well as the status of campaign pipelines and projects.
  • Ability to provide project management to your team and to integrated teams when called upon.
  • Detail-Oriented: Can spot a typo a mile away, diligent with formatting, double checks everything twice, and never forgets or misses a deadline.
  • Ability to implement systems that improve efficiency and and quality across campaigns.
  • Deep knowledge of influencer trends, current and emerging social platforms, content formats, and analytics.
  • Constantly dreaming up innovative, engaging and creative campaign ideas rooted in compelling cultural insights that win business, generate earned media value and set a creative benchmark for the agency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to instill client confidence on opportunities, projects, and tasks.
  • Comfortable taking calls with senior clients by yourself, leading and guiding discussions to actionable outcomes with clarity and authority.
  • Ability to analyze performance, develop insights and deliver reports with actionable insights, positioning influencer marketing and earned press as drivers of broader business and brand goals.
  • Content & Trend Obsessed: Scrolls TikTok for hours in your spare time, has a list of dream influencers, is the first to find a creator or content trend before they really pop off, consumes and is endlessly inspired by content & creators, and connects all of this knowledge to clients, constantly suggesting ways to turn cultural trends into relevant, ownable campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Dream up creative, multi-pronged paid and earned influencer campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement and conversion for our clients across different industries.
  • Advise clients on short and long-term strategy, manage expectations and set goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Maintain consistent knowledge of client affairs, generating original ideas to amplify their efforts through influencer marketing.
  • Originate creative and ownable campaign concepts that earn shares beyond the paid spend and create virtual “watercooler” conversation.
  • Reverse engineer virality; demonstrate clear understanding of what poses campaigns for maximum talkability.
  • Collaborate with the PR and Experiential teams to create integrated campaigns that deliver on client objectives.
  • Deliver outstanding results that prove meaningful to clients and drive repeat business for the agency.
  • Identify, outreach, negotiate, contract and lead the overall management and execution of paid and earned influencer programming across tiers of influencers and within a variety of platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Manage budgets ensuring cost-effectiveness and a strong ROI.
  • Report on campaign KPIs and performance providing actionable data-based insights and recommendations to clients.
  • Participate in new business meetings and proposals alongside senior leadership, contributing to business development and growth initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members and freelancers, ensuring quality and breadth of their work.
  • Provide thought leadership to our team, leading by example for junior team members, elevating our client work and ensuring SGPR is pushing the boundaries of what influencer marketing can achieve, ensuring we remain ahead of industry trends and client expectations.
