The Director Imaging is responsible for coordinating and facilitating a system approach to common imaging functions. This includes initiatives related to infrastructure, collaborative operations, compliance, medical staff partnerships, strategic planning, capital budget coordination, freestanding imaging strategy, Radiation Safety Coordination, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transcription, and cost reduction. The role also involves overseeing a Quality Assurance Program to ensure high patient care standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies like The Joint Commission, monitoring patient fees and cost structures, and managing the equipment service program and maintenance of imaging equipment. Additionally, the Director directs capital equipment planning, purchasing, and maintenance, and coordinates all maintenance agreements. Human resources responsibilities include staff interviewing, selection, development, performance evaluations, compensation, conflict resolution, and morale. The role also involves developing and recommending operating and capital budgets, controlling expenditures, and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct.
