The Director Imaging is responsible for coordinating and facilitating a system approach to common imaging functions. This includes initiatives related to infrastructure, collaborative operations, compliance, medical staff partnerships, strategic planning, capital budget coordination, freestanding imaging strategy, Radiation Safety Coordination, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transcription, and cost reduction. The role also involves overseeing a Quality Assurance Program to ensure high patient care standards and compliance with regulatory bodies like The Joint Commission. Additionally, the Director monitors patient fees, evaluates pricing and cost structures, and ensures the implementation of equipment service programs and proper operations of imaging equipment. This includes directing capital equipment planning, purchasing, and maintenance, as well as coordinating maintenance agreements. The position also encompasses human resources responsibilities for staff, including interviewing, selection, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation, conflict resolution, and employee morale. Developing and recommending operating and capital budgets, controlling expenditures, and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct are also key aspects of this role.
