About The Position

The Human Resources Director (HRD) will report to Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVP HR) and will be a key advisor to regional flagship senior leaders. The HRD will manage the regional HR Business Partner team and will actively collaborate with the regional TA team. The HRD will partner with Hospital Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement hospital-focused people strategies focused on the ongoing improvement of recruitment, employee engagement, retention, and succession.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. (Masters degree in human resources, business, organizational development, industrial/organizational psychology or other related discipline preferred.)
  • Minimum 10 of progressive experience as an HR Generalist required. At least 3 of those years managing teams.
  • Labor relations experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • HealthCare industry experience preferred.
  • SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as advisor to senior leaders for an assigned regional flagship. Cultivates a work environment across their HR Team and Client areas in support of the Hospital’s mission and values.
  • Assesses, evaluates, and identifies areas to optimize the current and future performance of the Hospital. Consults, coaches and advises Hospital Senior Leadership of new ways of operating to achieve improved business goals. Relies on a mixture of HR and business data / knowledge to influence outcomes.
  • Manages a regional HR Business Partner team. Champions established goals and strategies promoting a collaborative team environment. Provides ongoing coaching and development to ensure individual and team achievement of short and mid-range goals.
  • Acts as member of the Hospital Senior Leadership Team responsible for developing and implementing hospital-focused people strategies focused on the ongoing improvement of recruitment, employee engagement, retention, and succession. Manages HRBP Team and local-level recruiters to achieve hospital business goals and objectives.
  • Acts as member of the Hospital Senior Leadership Team responsible for developing and implementing hospital-focused people strategies focused on the ongoing improvement of recruitment, employee engagement, retention, and succession.   • Partners with regional TA Manager on the development of the overall talent strategy for the hospital(s).This includes workforce planning, leadership/employee development and training, and an overall hospital sourcing strategy. Working in partnership with the TA Manager, oversees day-to-day activities of the TA partners; ensuring consistent delivery against stated KPIs and Metrics.
  • Serves as an escalation point to the HRBP Team and oversees and advises on complex employee relations matters. Ensure investigations are through and lead to fair and reasonable outcomes across one or more hospitals. Tracks and monitors hospital trends and develops a hospital-specific employee relations strategy that promotes a healthy and inclusive culture.
  • Implements and monitors the vision/mission of the organization into actionable plans and expected outcomes, takes necessary steps to ensure expected outcomes.
  • In partnership with the Labor Relations and Senior Leadership Team, develops a hospital-based labor strategy that aligns with the overall region and system-level strategy. Plays a key role in any hospital union negotiations ensuring consistency across the region and/or system. Identifies any highly sensitive labor relation issues that could negatively impact the region or system.
