About The Position

AccuWeather is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their growing HR team who will lead and execute strategic HR initiatives with a primary focus on recruiting, talent management, and employee development. This role is responsible for building a high-performing workforce by attracting top talent, developing employees, and aligning talent strategies with organizational goals. The Director will serve as a key partner to the management team in shaping a culture of continuous learning, development, and performance excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in recruiting, talent management, and learning & development
  • Proven ability to build and implement strategic HR programs
  • Experience with HRIS systems and talent analytics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy to attract diverse, high-quality candidates
  • Partner with leadership to forecast workforce needs and build talent pipelines, including early-career talent
  • Oversee employer branding initiatives to position the organization as an employer of choice
  • Optimize recruiting processes, tools, and metrics (time-to-fill, quality of hire, etc.)
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring lifecycle
  • Manage employee onboarding through development of best-in-class programing through the first 90 days
  • Internship & Early Career Program Development
  • Design and manage a structured internship and early-career talent program aligned with business needs
  • Build partnerships with universities, colleges, and professional organizations to create a strong talent pipeline
  • Establish program goals, curricula, and meaningful project-based experiences for interns
  • Create pathways from internships to full-time employment
  • Measure program success through conversion rates, performance outcomes, and participant feedback
  • Promote the organization’s brand on campuses and within early-career networks
  • Talent Management & Succession Planning
  • Design and lead performance management systems that drive accountability and growth
  • Identify high-potential employees and create succession plans for critical roles
  • Partner with leaders to support employee engagement, retention, and career progression
  • Implement talent review processes and leadership development strategies
  • Use data and analytics to inform talent decisions and improve organizational effectiveness
  • Learning, Training & Development
  • Develop and execute a company-wide learning and development strategy
  • Design leadership development programs and career pathing frameworks
  • Assess training needs and deliver programs that enhance employee skills and performance
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs based on feedback and outcomes
  • HR Leadership & Strategy
  • Align HR strategies with overall business objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on talent-related matters
  • Lead and develop the HR team to deliver high-impact results
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across recruiting and development
