About The Position

We are seeking to grow our team by adding a strong operational and strategic leader in Human Resources. Primary Function: The Human Resources Director (HR Director) provides operational and strategic leadership across all areas of human resources, serving as a trusted advisor to the firm’s leadership. This role oversees and executes human resource initiatives including employee relations, benefits administration, talent management, organizational development, performance management, compensation strategy and compliance. In addition, the HR Director leads in business and state insurance, licensing and registration. The role is culture-focused and requires a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

Requirements

  • Guide and mentor the administrative staff who oversee the daily operations, office supplies and office vendor relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply high attention to detail and analytical rigor to complex, high-stakes HR matters with organizational impact.
  • Advanced experience leveraging HRIS and people data to inform decision-making, drive process improvements, and support strategic workforce initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office, including the ability to analyze, present, and communicate data effectively to leadership.
  • Highly developed communication, influencing, and consultation skills, with the ability to effectively engage employees at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to operate independently with sound judgment, while also collaborating cross-functionally and partnering closely with leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality, exercising professional discretion, and managing sensitive information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring employees.
  • 10+ years of successfully managing a small team or working as a one person HR department with breadth and depth knowledge in Human Resources.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers all HR operations including but not limited to learning and development, benefits administration, LOA management, compensation and market analysis, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning and HR policy implementation.
  • Serves as a strategic talent management advisor to leadership regarding workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational risk.
  • Designs and implements organizational development and training programs including onboarding, leadership development, and professional growth initiatives.
  • Implements the employee engagement strategy. Helps develop action plan to boost employee experience.
  • Leads full-cycle recruitment from workforce planning through onboarding and integration.
  • Manages benefits administration and oversees the firm’s 401(k) plan.
  • Partners with outside counsel to ensure employment law compliance.
  • Leads employee relations efforts including coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Develops, updates, and enforces HR policies and employee handbook content.
  • Participates in strategic planning, budgeting, and change management initiatives.
  • Manages business and state insurance, licensing and registration requirements.
  • Has HR and office administration budget and vendor oversight.
  • Oversees all aspects of office administration and provides leadership to its personnel.
  • Performs credential review.
  • Assists in designing the emergency planning and preparedness program.
  • Completes payroll processing as a back-up to the Accounting Department.
