About The Position

The Director of Human Resources is a department-of-one role owning HR across Entrada's three entities — talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compliance, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. This person will report directly to the Partners, with one direct report (Office Manager / Administrative Support). This is a highly autonomous, self-directed role with a real seat at the table — the Director will act as a true advisor to the Partners and managers on all HR matters, with the freedom to build and run the function their way and outsized visibility and impact across the entire organization. Based onsite in Addison, TX Monday–Thursday, with WFH optional Fridays.

Requirements

  • Department-of-one HR experience
  • Experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compliance, compensation and benefits, and employee relations
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to leadership
  • Experience building and running an HR function
  • Knowledge of federal and California, Georgia, and Texas employment law
  • Experience with I-9 compliance, personnel files, and required postings
  • Experience managing workers' compensation and unemployment claims
  • Experience administering payroll
  • Experience managing benefits enrollment and broker relationships
  • Experience administering leave programs (FMLA, PTO, parental leave)
  • Experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations
  • Experience advising on employment decisions, terminations, and risk mitigation
  • Experience managing direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle recruiting in collaboration with hiring managers — manage job requisitions, conduct screening calls, and guide managers through interviews as needed.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding, including orientation and exit interviews.
  • Administer the annual/mid-year review process and train managers on goal-setting and coaching.
  • Guide performance improvement plans, disciplinary action, and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and California, Georgia, and Texas employment law (wage and hour, leave, safety, EEO) across all offices.
  • Maintain the employee handbook and HR policies; own I-9 compliance, personnel files, and required postings.
  • Manage workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and HR-related audits or investigations.
  • Administer payroll.
  • Manage benefits enrollment, broker relationships, and compensation benchmarking.
  • Administer leave programs (FMLA, PTO, parental leave) and ensure accurate tracking.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations across all three entities.
  • Advise on employment decisions, terminations, and risk mitigation; champion culture and engagement.
  • Manage the Office Manager / Administrative Support direct report.
  • Operate independently as the sole HR function, escalating high-risk matters to the Partners as their trusted people advisor.
