About The Position

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Director, HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic HR partner to an assigned client group. The role combines business acumen and HR expertise to advise leaders on people decisions, team building, and the day-to-day needs of a fast-growing biotech. It includes strategic work as well as hands-on support for employee relations, talent planning, and organizational effectiveness. The position is based in the Irvine office and uses a hybrid work environment. Some travel may be required, up to 20%. The role reports directly to the VP, Human Resources.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner.
Business acumen and ability to connect HR strategy and priorities to organizational goals and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to build trust and relationships with partners at various levels of the organization.
Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and objectivity; maintain high professional ethics and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Serve as a proactive advisor and thought partner to leaders in assigned client groups, translating business priorities into HR strategies and action plans.
Partner with leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning to address current needs and future growth.
Coach people leaders on performance management, feedback, and team effectiveness.
Drive change management for organizational shifts, including restructures and acquisition integration.
Use HR data and metrics, including turnover, engagement, and headcount, to identify trends and recommend solutions to leadership.
Partner with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Learning & Development to deliver integrated HR support.
Support annual HR cycles, including performance reviews, compensation planning, talent reviews, and engagement action planning.
Champion Tarsus’s culture and values and help build an inclusive, high-performing environment.
Lead employee relations matters, partnering with legal and compliance, conducting investigations, and providing consistent guidance that balances employee experience with business and legal risk.
