About The Position

The Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides strategic HR leadership and consultation to FSC and cross-industry leaders, aligning talent strategies, HR operations, and workforce solutions with CoreCivic’s business objectives. Advises senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, employee relations, talent planning, engagement, change management, and risk mitigation while leading HR service delivery and HR team support across assigned FSC departments. This position requires 4 days (M-Th) onsite in Brentwood, TN.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related business field is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least two years in a business partner, HR leadership, employee relations, organizational development, or senior HR advisory role, is required.
  • Must demonstrate broad HR knowledge, business acumen, executive presence, analytical capability, sound judgment, consultation skills, and the ability to influence leaders in a complex, fast-paced, or highly regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience within Human Resources is preferred.
  • Additional years of related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple departments, business units, or functions is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with FSC and senior leaders to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, workforce effectiveness, leadership capability, and employee engagement.
  • Leads talent planning efforts, including workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, retention strategies, leadership assessment, and employee development in partnership with HR subject matter experts.
  • Provides strategic consultation, coaching, and guidance to leaders on complex employee relations matters, organizational change, performance management, conflict resolution, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops assigned HR team members to ensure consistent, high-quality HR support and effective execution of HR priorities.
  • Assesses organizational and cultural health across assigned departments; identifies people-related risks and partners with leaders to develop practical action plans.
  • Uses workforce data, HR metrics, analytics, and employee feedback to identify trends, evaluate people strategies, and recommend solutions that support informed business decisions.
  • Leads employee listening efforts, focus groups, and engagement follow-up activities.
  • Partners with leaders to implement action plans that improve engagement, retention, and accountability.
  • Participates in the identification, assessment, and development of senior leaders and critical talent through interview panels, talent reviews, and succession discussions.
  • Leads HR initiatives, projects, process improvements, and policy or practice enhancements that improve HR service delivery, mitigate risk, and support company goals.
  • Partners across HR functions and business teams to deliver integrated solutions in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compensation, talent management, training, compliance, and regulatory audit preparedness.
  • Leverages technology and process improvement opportunities to enhance HR service delivery, operational consistency, and leader and employee experience.
  • Models executive presence and reinforces a culture of excellence, trust, accountability, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment laws, HR regulations, company policies, industry practices, and business conditions that may impact HR strategy and organizational effectiveness.
