About The Position

MiniMed is a newly public insulin delivery company focused on advancing automated therapy for people with diabetes. The company operates with the drive of a startup and the resources of a public company, aiming to make a significant impact in diabetes care. This role is part of a rebuilding effort for all functions to meet the demands of being a public company, with new governance and expectations. The Director, HR Business Partner for Corporate Functions will be responsible for the people strategy for five key groups: Finance, Legal, Digital Technology, Corporate Development & Strategy & Transformation. This individual will partner directly with Executive leaders across these functions, offering broader reach than typical HRBP roles. The position reports directly to the CHRO and is an individual contributor role with significant autonomy. It is designed for someone seeking the breadth of a generalist, the challenge of executive-level partnerships, and the trust to make independent decisions. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, executive presence, and the judgment to navigate diverse functions with unique characteristics. This is a hybrid role based in Northridge, California, requiring three days per week onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on talent management, organizational development, or related disciplines OR advanced degree and 8+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on talent management, organizational development, or related disciplines
  • 7+ years of managerial experience

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Business Partnering: Understand leaders' functions to sharpen their problems and bring a clear point of view into discussions. Own outcomes, not just recommendations, and constructively push back when necessary.
  • Talent Management & Development: Identify high-potential employees, flight risks, and succession gaps within client groups. Collaborate with the Director of Global Talent Management on performance calibration and development plans.
  • Organizational Design & Workforce Planning: Partner with leaders to redesign structures for scaling and automating functions, considering the impact of AI. Make clear and decisive organizational design choices.
  • Drive a Performance Culture: Champion a high-performance culture aligned with MiniMed's values. Coach leaders on implementing pay-for-performance and providing direct feedback to drive behavioral change.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Building the Function: Work collaboratively with Talent Management, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and HR Ops. Represent functional needs in enterprise-wide HR initiatives and contribute to building MiniMed's HR function as a newly public company.
