About The Position

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the House of Peace, located in Waukegan, IL, which offers a transitional home and robust programming and supports for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Ensure that services are delivered with consistency, compassion, and measurable impact. Identify, plan, and implement opportunities that respond to emerging needs and enrich the lives of those we serve. Build and sustain strong community partnerships to expand engagement, collaboration, and impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in domestic violence program leadership, social services, or nonprofit operations.
  • Demonstrated success in partnership building, staff development, and operational management.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Proven ability to lead teams with compassion, accountability, and strategic focus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to CCAC's purpose and values, and to advancing equitable, inclusive, and community-driven services.
  • 40 hour DV training certification
  • Background check, including any program specific requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in human services, nonprofit management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership for House of Peace.
  • Directly responsible for the overall management of the daily operations and aftercare.
  • Provide supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Hire, train and develop the team.
  • Ensure services provided are trauma-informed and strength-based.
  • Ensure adequate staffing to meet client needs and volume.
  • Responsible for program planning, onsite risk mitigation, and fiscal management.
  • Use data and performance insights to strengthen program effectiveness, quality, and impact.
  • Identify opportunities for service enhancements, evidence-based interventions, and program development that advance positive outcomes for individuals and families served.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff, departments, and/or community partner agencies to obtain or connect to resources for clients.
  • Maintain program compliance with CCAC regulations as well as applicable funder, accreditation, legal, and practice standards.
  • Working alongside CCAC colleagues across programs, cultivate and sustain partnerships with local peer organizations and faith communities to strengthen the social safety net and expand access to domestic violence services.
  • Represent CCAC in community forums and events to promote support of House of Peace.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous feedback by providing regular feedback and guidance.
  • Inspire team excellence by modeling accountability, collaboration, and solution-oriented thinking, and ensuring team members are supported and empowered.
  • Foster a positive and purpose-driven culture.
  • Develop staff capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
