The Director is responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and direct accountability for hospital revenue cycle operations including billing, coding, compliance, service line accounts receivable, technology integration, quality assurance, and operations support for the hospital central business office (CBO). The Director monitors, reports, and communicates matters impacting Ochsner Hospital facilities Accounts Receivable and non-Ochsner clients as they may be added to the CBO. The Director maintains excellent and productive relationships with colleagues, facility leadership, physicians, physician groups, and third-party payers. The Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle evaluates billing, denial, and follow-up trends and associated metrics to implement mitigation plans and educational requirements, including follow-up edit consultation, education, and KPIs for Ochsner Health System’s Revenue Cycle; develops and is accountable for budget for department or multiple functional areas; oversees and directs business office activities including billing-related staff for Ochsner Health System CBO facilities; develops and monitors specific objectives and performance standards for each area of responsibility in order to evaluate and improve financial outcomes and quality improvements. The Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle develops, evaluates, and implements individual training plans and staff development programs for each functional area; provides ongoing training for new and existing staff; monitors regulatory issues, federal and state, that impact the department for compliance; and coordinates staff assignments according to volume of work and areas of responsibility to ensure that all assigned tasks are completed timely.
