We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Director of Healthcare Economics to help drive financial and clinical performance. The role will be focused on programs & initiatives with our value-based provider Network – partnering cross-functionally to design pay-for-performance (P4P) arrangements, measure the results, and identify novel approaches to improving total cost of care (TCOC). This role will also be instrumental in establishing a data management and reporting strategy in support of our Network function. This is a key role within the Finance team, reporting to the Senior Director of Healthcare Economics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related field required, such as economics, finance, math, statistics, data science, or engineering.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, informatics, medical economics, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in value-based care, health plans, provider enablement, or population health settings.
  • 5+ years of experience in TCOC analysis and/or provider performance analytics.
  • Proficiency with healthcare claims data and other assets.
  • Proficient with Excel-based Financial modeling and SQL.
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms.
  • Ability to travel and be on-site to meet business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries or Masters in Math, Statistics, analytical, engineering or STEM discipline, preferred.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership of analytics teams, including 4+ years managing direct reports at the manager level (or greater).
  • Proficiency with modern data tools and platforms (e.g., Python, Snowflake, Tableau).
  • Experience working with payers or provider organizations operating under value-based contracts.
  • Direct oversight of both Medical Economics function.
  • Familiarity with CMS programs (ACO REACH, MSSP, MA).
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to direct, manage and develop high-performing teams, with a strong focus on fostering collaboration and driving results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as trusted analytical and economic partner for internal Network leadership.
  • Own the analytical framework for understanding and managing total cost of care (TCOC) across our Network relationships and programs.
  • Develop business cases and quantify the expected and realized impact of network initiatives & programs.
  • Own budget and forecast modeling for our Network vertical.
  • Partner cross-functionally to optimize the data infrastructure for Network-related reporting & analytics.
  • Establish a Network reporting & analytics strategy to optimize insights for our Provider partners and ensure efficient use of time & resources.
  • Direct a team of Analysts to execute against TCOC objectives and meet the operational and strategic needs of our Network function.
  • Help design, implement and refine pay-for-performance and incentive programs aligned with organizational and payer objectives.
  • Develop performance measures, attribution methodologies, benchmark strategies and incentive calculations.
  • Evaluation physician & practice-level performance and socialize opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop reporting that enables physicians to understand performance and take action.
  • Measure program effectiveness / ROI and recommend changes as appropriate.
