About The Position

Ethicon, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, GSM, Stratafix to be based in Raritan, NJ. Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. The Surgery team will give you the chance to deliver surgical technologies and solutions to surgeons and healthcare professionals around the world. Your contributions will help effectively treat some of the world’s most prevalent conditions such as obesity, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The Ethicon franchise offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies-including sutures, hemostasis products, surgical staplers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices-that surgeons use in a wide variety of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures, and energy based surgical devices.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience with 8 years progressive business experience as well as minimum of 3 years of consumer or healthcare marketing/sales experience is required.
  • Previous people management experience required.
  • Excellent cross-functional and management influencing skills and ability to develop customer relationships are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Medical Device marketing/sales experience is highly preferred.
  • Previous regional in line marketing experience, new product launches and Global Strategic marketing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in product development including needs assessment, portfolio management, new opportunity assessment, and product lifecycle management is preferred.
  • Proven track record to work in a Global organization is preferred.
  • Experience with supply chain, global brand management and new product launch is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and using customer insights are preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency building and implementing marketing strategy is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading various teams across different functions is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for end-to-end STRATAFIX brand strategy including platform segmentation across surgical specialties (Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Ob-Gyn, General Surgery & Robotics), positioning, pricing strategies, evidence generation & claims, regional launch execution, new product introductions (including next-generation barbed suture innovation), VOC & insights to inform brand strategy and pipeline development, lifecycle management, and business development strategies.
  • Lead the STRATAFIX value proposition refresh and long-range strategic vision, translating competitive intelligence, market sizing models, and clinical evidence into a compelling and differentiated global brand narrative.
  • Engage with surgeons and Key Opinion Leaders across lab, OR, and advisory board settings to identify key clinical insights, unmet needs, and adoption barriers that inform commercial strategy, evidence generation priorities, and pipeline development.
  • Build and disseminate the global STRATAFIX commercial toolkit—including Challenger Sales choreographies, business case materials, and clinical selling aids—in partnership with Regional Marketing, Professional Education, Commercial Education, and Communications.
  • Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Sales, Regional Marketing, Finance, and key customers in shaping and accelerating the STRATAFIX portfolio strategy; identify unmet needs; evaluate options; and provide direction for global growth opportunities.
  • Ensure achievement of financial targets within specified budgets and timeframes, including top-line growth, gross profit improvement, and forecast accuracy.
